Correct Meta Data of songs

Postby lifeh2o » 07 May 2010, 23:16

I love the information retrieval of Jaangle. When i was new to it i saved lyrics of a lot of songs supposing that they were being saved in mp3 files. Later i cam to knew that Jaangle store all that data in its own database and leave mp3 files untouched.
I may be wrong because i am still not much used to with its options.
If Jaangle could store the album title lyrics and other information that it retrieves from internet, it would make my music life much easier. I have a large collection and i want to clean up the mp3 meta data, tags lyrics, album titles, genre etc etc etc.
Is there anyway to do it?

Jaangle stores by default lyrics in both its own DB and ID3-tags. Have you disabled tagging? Jaangle also stores tags in ID3 v2.4 does your tagging software support that version? Mp3tag [http://www.mp3tag.de] does.

OK!! Then why those tags and lyrics do not appear in Windows Media Player?

Maybe WMP is not able to read 2.4 and/or reads older tags (i.e. 2.3), because sometimes writing 2.4-tags does not delete 2.3-tags or rewrites them...
Try a different tagger and experimente or ask google^^
btw: Many mp3-player does not support 2.4-tags -.-

I'll ask outcast to implent 2.3-support ;-)
