Not intuitive at all!

Postby Stutz » 29 Jul 2010, 00:32

All I want to do is add all of my songs to a playlist and play them randomly, like an Ipod. Why on earth are there three panes for my songs? Why can't I just see a list of all my songs in alphabetical order and have the option to shuffle play them? Maybe I don't want to have them grouped by artist or album or anything else!

I can't figure out how to add everything from the library pane to the playlist pane without selecting each artist separately and hitting enqueue in the track list pane -- a super-tedious process. Ctrl-A doesn't seem to work in the library pane. What am I missing?

Hi Stutz!
In the pane Play List, just do like the picture below, and all your collection will be played in random mode:

I see what that has done. So apparently, when it runs out of songs in the Playlist pane, it adds another one and plays it? Isn't there a way to get all my songs to show in the playlist pane without having to play them first? Also, is there a way to see a complete list of my songs in alphabetical or some other order, without having them all grouped by artist or genre or whatever?

You can see all songs of your collection in the Tracklist pane (... and Playlist). Like that:

1- In Music browser pane, click on the wheel, and click on Mode --> Collection - artist - album. A few seconds later, the name of your collection will appear, ex.: C:\Mp3
2- Click on this collection name and all the songs will appear in Tracklist pane
3- In Tracklist pane, click on 'Title' to have the songs in alphabetical order.
4- I can't see the point of it, but if you want to put all the ordered songs of the Tracklist in the Playlist, just click on 'Play' in the Tracklist.

Nice, thanks! That did what I wanted in the first place.

Personally, I can't see any point to the whole three-pane layout. It seems completely unnecessary. What's the point of having the Playlist separate from the Track List anyway?

What's a guy to do when he misses the simplicity of the original WinAmp [...sigh]? Hopefully I'll grow to appreciate Jaangle once I start to make some sense of it. So far it seems pretty decent.

Jaangle isn't just a music player - it's foremost a music organizer. ;)
